Hello DSES Families. We are very excited to have most of our back to school forms now online. This will make coming back to school much easier. Forms are available NOW in the APP under Desert Sunset Elementary School you can also visit our website linked below. Please plan to attend DSES’ back to school event to complete additional paperwork. If you haven’t already, please download the SMUSD APP. The APP will be the primary form of communication from your child's teacher, office, and the district. We can't wait to see you on August 1 for the first day of school.

Attention Families! We are trying something new this year. Meet the Teacher night always seems very busy and we want to make sure everyone has a chance to learn a little about their teacher and to hear of the expectations for the year. So, this year we have scheduled classroom presentations. During these times we ask that you take a seat and listen as teachers share with everyone in the room a bit about themselves, their goals for the year and expectations. Of course you are welcome to visit classrooms any time, but the scheduled presentations will give you answers to many of your questions. Looking forward to seeing you soon!

Our district is utilizing a new tool for parent/teacher communication called Rooms. This summer we are going to begin using this platform for all summer programs and activities. Rooms is also where you will be finding out your student’s new class schedule and teacher assignments for the 2024-2025 school year. It is important to accept your guardian invitation to Rooms NOW prior to summer break! If you haven’t accepted your guardian invitation yet, you will be receiving an email or text message invitation on April 23rd. Please reach out to your teacher if you have any questions!
